Effective date: 2026-10-29. By using williedasherlaw.net (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use, our Privacy Policy, and our Disclaimer, which are part of these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to submit information through the Site.
Permitted use
You may use the Site to learn about Texas family law and about the Firm, and to contact us. You agree not to use the Site to send unlawful, abusive, threatening, or misleading content; to submit another person's information without their permission; to scrape, copy, or train automated systems on the Site's content for commercial purposes; to probe, interfere with, or overload the Site or its security; or to impersonate another person when contacting us.
Contact forms, chat, and calculators
Information you submit through forms, the chat assistant, or by email is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Submitting information does not create an attorney-client relationship and does not obligate the Firm to represent you. The chat assistant is automated and gives general information only. Calculators and estimates on the Site are educational tools based on general Texas guidelines; they do not account for every factor a court considers and are not a prediction of what a court will order in your case.
Consultations and communications
When you request a consultation, you agree that the Firm may contact you by phone, email, or text message at the contact details you provide, for the purpose of responding to your request. Calls and texts may be placed using automated dialing or messaging technology. Message and data rates may apply. You may withdraw this consent at any time by replying STOP to a text message, by telling the person who calls you, or by emailing ewillie@williedasherlaw.com. Consent is not a condition of hiring the Firm. You also agree that we may send you notices and documents about your inquiry electronically; you may request paper copies at any time.
Intellectual property
All content on the Site, including articles, graphics, logos, photographs, and software, is owned by or licensed to Eric M. Willie, P.C. and protected by United States copyright and trademark law. You may view, print, or download pages for your personal, non-commercial use, provided you keep all copyright notices intact. Any other use requires our written permission. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, email ewillie@williedasherlaw.com with the work, the location on the Site, and your contact information, and we will respond promptly.
What you send us
You keep ownership of anything you send us. By sending it, you give the Firm permission to use it to respond to you, check for conflicts, and, if you become a client, to represent you. You confirm that you have the right to share any information you send about other people.
Third-party content and links
The Site may link to or display content from third parties, including review platforms, government websites, and maps. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party content, and a link is not an endorsement.
Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability
The Site is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Firm disclaims all warranties, express or implied, and will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on the Site's content, from an interruption of the Site, or from unauthorized access to information sent through it, except where the loss results from the Firm's own gross negligence or willful misconduct. Nothing in these Terms limits the professional duties the Firm owes to clients it has agreed in writing to represent, and nothing limits liability that cannot be limited under Texas law.
Governing law, informal resolution, and venue
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. If you have a dispute about the Site, contact us first and we will try to resolve it within 30 days. Any dispute that is not resolved will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the jurisdiction of those courts. Disputes about a representation are governed by the engagement agreement, not by these Terms.
Changes
We may revise these Terms at any time by posting the revised version on the Site with a new effective date. Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
General
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Disclaimer are the entire agreement between you and the Firm about the Site. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these Terms.
